Jeff Oliver

Jeffrey Hamilton Oliver (born February 5, 1987) is an American writer, filmmaker and comedian. He is known for his film work in the comedy and horror genres. He performed at the Bridgetown Comedy Festival (2012, 2014), appeared on NPRs Tell Me More, as a question on Wait, Wait...Dont Tell Me. He has been awarded grants by the Oregon Community Foundation, Regional Arts and Culture Council and Oregon Film. Recently he has been an artist in residence at Foundation House (2023) and UnionDocs (2024).

Since 2012 he has taught filmmaking with organizations like Bucks Rock Performing and Creative Arts Camp, Oregon Childrens Theatre, Movie Madness, Hollywood Theatre and Outside the Frame. In 2019-2020 he taught a series of workshops at MacLaren Youth Correctional Facility in partnership with Morpheus Youth Project, Hope Partnership and Open Signal. From 2020 to 2022 he managed Open Signal Labs Black Filmmaker Fellowship.

His most recent film, Thirsty Thursday (2024), premiered in the US at the Portland Horror Film Festival and the UK at the Abertoir Horror Film Festival.
